Doing some drive cleanup and came across a photo of the barn still standing.
Oh superlambanana, how I love thee.
Visiting my friend in Liverpool in 2010 I discovered the superlambanana and the smaller lambananas that are scattered throughout the city. I mocked it at first--how absurd. Even as a person in the arts industry, I couldn't see how this would make sense. And then I fell in love.
I encourage you to read and learn more about them here -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superlambanana -- and try to visit these wonderful creatures in person if you can.
On April 7, 2016, the farmhouse was demolished. It was the last standing structure of the Whitby farm. What a day.
Christmas time is here!
It's been a wild couple of months. From spring to fall, with a trip in between. As I prepare photos from the trip to post, here's one of my favourites from Rome.
Another visit home, to marvellous peonies!
This was a different winter, one I haven't seen in years, or perhaps at all in my lifetime. While the coating of ice made the trees and branches shimmer in the sunlight, it caused chaos in various parts of southern Ontario, knocking out power for days. Luckily I wasn't affected, and neither were my parents in Oshawa for the most part. Some photos from the trip home.
What a weekend! Toronto saw a lot of freezing rain over the past two days. Things got slippery and everything became encased in ice, causing branches to snap and thus sweeping power outages. My apartment is surrounded by large, beautiful trees and its limbs became victims to the storm. One snapped and landed right outside my kitchen window. I was lucky to have power throughout the storm though, and with no damage to report. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm as we clean-up and as power continues to be restored to many areas still affected.
